Safety

Safety is our first concern. Common Defiance helps people find safety in this country and in their communities through nonviolent de-escalation, depolarization networking, mutual aid, and standing in solidarity using our constitutional rights. No matter who you are, we can help you find a place to contribute in a meaningful way to promote safety.

We have a history of putting boots on the ground for safety on request from our network to support those who exercise their constitutional rights. Our Hats and Vests group, a chat for specialty team members who wear a hat or vest to show their role while on duty, is sensitive and respectful toward groups that follow the St. Paul Principles, the Lansing Alignment, and the No Kings Consensus. We have also worked with groups that use police escort.

We have highly trained safety instructors that teach, mentor, and help place volunteers.
